Splatter Island Woodsball League  2011

This is the third year for the Splatter Island Woodsball League.  This league is strictly for those who love playing woodsball and want to play in a more competitive game that general walk-on days don't provide.  The league's focus is on honour both on and off the field.  Good sportsmanship is key to everyone having fun and the overall success of the league. This year we will be expanding the size of the teams to 10 players on the field plus an additional 2 bonus unique players (women, junior players in grade 7 or less, and/or players using pumps and/or pistols only).  The reason for the bonus players is to encourage a wider variety of paintball players into to league and reward the teams who actively recruit them.

Rule Changes and Updates:

To give all the teams a chance to practice we've decided allow all the Splatter Island Woodsball teams free access to the field for practice.  Paying bookings get priority but if the field is available all teams are welcome to come out and practice, bringing as many people with them as they wish.  There is no field fee, bring your own paint or buy it at the field.

Originally I set the league games to field paint only, not all paint works perfect in all guns, so I'm changing it so that other off field paint can be used as long as it's not cheap paint from Canadian Tire or Walmart (these paints stain clothes and some have excessively hard shells).  Any paint bought from other fields or paintball stores are allowed.

Team Format:  Teams consist of a maximum of 12 players on the field, 10 regular players plus 2 unique players.  More then two unique players are permitted to be on the team but they must play as regular players, only two unique players are permitted on the field per game.  Teams may have auxiliary players in the respawn box.  Auxiliary players can be subbed in to replace eliminated regular players as they return to the respawn area, unique players can't be subbed out by anyone else during the game.

Game Format:  Games will be a maximum of 30 minutes long, each team played in the regular season will be played from both ends of the field.  All games will be played at Splatter Island Paintball field.  Games will be of the 5 flag format, teams will attempt to capture three control zones for points.  In order to capture a control, teams will need to demonstrate their control of the area by keeping at least one player in a marked area around the flag for at least one uninterrupted minute.  After that minute, the flag ref will raise your teams flag and start your points timer.  Control zones further away from your respawn will be worth more points.  In addition to the three control zones, each team will have a base flag that they must protect from their opponents.  Capturing your opponents base flag and returning it to your respawn zone will be worth points.

League Fees:  $100 per team, reffing will be done by teams that aren't playing.

Organization:  There are six teams registered in the league.  All teams will play on the same days.

Predators Outlaws
Raiders Mercenaries
 Bunker Monkeys Thunder & Lightning

All players are required to have a signed waiver on file at Splatter Island Paintball.  Click here for a copy of the waiver.

Season:  The league will consist of 3 regular season games in which all teams will be played twice(once from each side of the field).  The scores from the regular season will determine the seating for the play-offs.
